The Green Scene pop-up shop
Short description
The pop-up shop will immediately result in hundreds-even thousands of less disposable cups, straws, bottles and plastic toothbrushes being used.
Long description
I currently own and run a start-up business called 'The Green Scene' and would love to set up a pop-up shop if possible, in order to promote my products to the students at trinity and to help raise awareness. We offer products such as bamboo coffee cups, reusable toothbrushes, metal water bottles and reusable metal straws and also plant trees with a portion of the profits we earn. We wish to help make reusable products more attainable for everyone. Overall, we are going to be using much less plastic as we will be switching it for eco-friendly alternatives, and another thing is that students will bring their own reusable products, and this will also influence other students to do the same! I am hoping to cause a ripple effect amongst the students to living a positive eco-friendly lifestyle and to reduce their carbon footprint!
Scope of the project
Involve the whole university, no specific location - preferably main campus but even if it was a particular building such as TBSI would work for us.
Budget
I will need to set up the pop-up shop, and this may also require some funding for the maintenance of the website, buying in new products, shipping them, planting more trees, and all the additional costs that come with it. If we run some competitions, prizes will also be required for this, and so this may require additional funding too.
How do you envisage dealing with COVID-19 restrictions?
Social distancing, wearing masks and hand sanitizing constantly.
