Campus Garden

Short description

I would like to set up this garden so that students can grow their own fruit and vegetables, and take part together as a community.

Long description

This will have numerous benefits both to the students, such as educating students more on how to live sustainably and will help us save some costs as growing our own food is less expensive and will also benefit Trinity as you will be helping out students to facilitate living a much more sustainable life. Every student would be more than welcome to come and join us, and this would be an all-inclusive idea! As spring is coming, this would be a lovely opportunity to get started. I would also like to plant some fruit trees, and also berry bushes is possible, as that would greatly enhance the quality of the campus garden, and would also make it much more appealing visually to go and see.

Scope of the project

This can definitely involve the entire university, but is aiming specifically at students in order to try get them more involved but staff are more than welcome to join! It will involve having some green space to have the garden in.

Budget

We will need to make an area by buying plant beds and creating a vegetable patch. We will need to buy compost, seeds (or we could even try plant from already bought and used fruit/vegetables), raised flower beds and pots, and other gardening tools. Funds will be needed in order to make this the best it can be!

How do you envisage dealing with COVID-19 restrictions?

As this is all outdoors, we plan on following social distancing guidelines, and having masks on at all times.
