Renewed Notes Community

Create a social platform for students at the University to exchange educational material to reduce the waste of paper and the disuse of printed notes.

Create a Renewed Notes community for students at the University to: 1) RECYCLE: Creating an exchange network for the reuse of notes in which members offer notes to change and receive others that interest them. By putting the students in contact to exchange their resources with the aim of reducing the waste of paper and avoiding the generation of new waste. The platform will have a points system to encourage participation and guarantee that, in addition to benefiting from the content shared by the community, each user also contributes to its proper functioning. 2) PAPER WASTE PREVENTION: Making educational material available to students in digital format to avoid generating waste and the overuse of photocopies. 3) ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS CAMPAIGN: Generate and disseminate pedagogical content and awareness and sustainability news that allows changes and advances in environmental matters. By creating a collaborative space we seek to engage and inspire students to make small changes and find creative ways to improve the well-being of the planet. We want students to feel part of the change by participating in an initiative that benefits them both educationally and generates a positive impact on campus. By bringing the community together and transmitting shared values we can collectively address environmental problems.

The students from all the faculties of the University of Barcelona will be involved. We will need the support of the university to publicize the project on the UB website and we would also publish it on social networks.

One of the advantages of the Renewed Notes project is that it does not require a large investment. Regarding the budget, it is necessary to take into account the creation of an ad-hoc website or assesses the incorporation of the project within a section of the main university website. If we could count on the support infrastructure of the UB, we would need the help of a specialist or web programmer for the creation of the platform.

We want to create a hybrid space that connects the student community and promotes environmentally friendly activities. The exchange of notes in paper format can be done safely in less than a five-minute appointment with the use of a mask in an outdoor space. This year we want to focus on creating valuable connections virtually and spread awareness. Eventually, we will create more opportunities to interact in person and carry out environmental actions and events when possible again!
